Akhil Shah

Akhil Shah is a litigation lawyer at Rousseau Mazzuca LLP, where his practice focuses on commercial litigation and construction law. Akhil represents a wide range of clients - developers, general contractors, subcontractors, and business owners - in complex disputes involving breach of contract, construction liens, delay claims, negligence, and insolvency-related issues under the Construction Act.

Prior to joining Rousseau Mazzuca, Akhil worked with the Ontario Ministry of Finance, where he was involved in litigation and prosecutions on behalf of the Crown. He brings a practical and results-oriented approach to dispute resolution, with experience appearing before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, as well as in adjudications and mediations.

Akhil is a steady and thoughtful advocate who approaches litigation with a calm and strategic mindset. While he is fully prepared to advance his clients’ interests in court, he is equally focused on identifying practical, business-minded solutions at every stage of the dispute. Akhil’s clients value his composed demeanor, sound judgment, and commitment to achieving results through both litigation and resolution.

Akhil is a member of the South Asian Bar Association. He holds an Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto and a Juris Doctor from the University of Windsor.

Outside of the office, Akhil enjoys camping, discovering new restaurants, quoting movies, and cheering on the Toronto Maple Leafs.
