Daniel is a civil litigator with a primary focus on construction law, contract disputes, civil and commercial litigation, and creditor remedies in bankruptcy and insolvency matters.

He represents a broad range of clients both in and out of the courtroom, guiding them through the litigation process with practical advice and strategic insight. Daniel regularly appears before the Superior Court of Justice and the Commercial List.

Daniel earned his law degree from Western University, where he also worked at Western’s Community Legal Services, providing pro bono legal assistance to members of the London-Middlesex community. He articled at a large national law firm in Ottawa before moving back to Toronto.

Before entering the legal field, Daniel completed both his BSc and MSc at Western University, and co-authored scientific articles published in peer-review journals. His training in the scientific method informs his legal practice, equipping him with analytical precision and a methodical approach to problem-solving.

Out of the courtroom, Daniel enjoys staying active, watching hockey and football, and competing in (almost) any sporting and gaming competitions.

  •  Acted for multiple secured creditors before the Commercial List, successfully obtaining receivership orders (e.g., CV-24-00733110-00CL)

  •  Represented a creditor and obtained judgment against a third-party garnishee in the Superior Court (2024 ONSC 7403)

  • Represented a high-profile general contractor in a $3,500,000 construction mediation and obtained a favourable outcome while maintaining professional working relationships between the contracting parties     

  •  Defended against a summary judgment motion involving breach of trust claims under the Construction Act against a general contractor

  • Represented a large transit design-builder consortium in prosecuting a $55,000,000 lien claim and successfully defending against a $800,000 subcontractor lien claim

  • Represented a high-profile concrete supplier in successfully prosecuting lien and bond claims across several jurisdictions throughout Ontario   

  • Acted for a secured creditor enforcing its $4,000,000 claim against a real estate investment firm

  • Represented a large general contractor in adjudication proceedings under the Construction Act before ODACC

  • Acted for an international bonding facility in pursuing a $2,200,000 indemnity claim

  • Advised a leading construction-tech company on litigation and risk management strategies, and in developing its business

  • Enforced construction liens and secured payment for high-profile contractor clients

  • Represented an international labour union in enforcing unpaid wages and remittances claims before the Ontario Labour Relations Board
