Elizabeth is a lawyer at Rousseau Mazzuca LLP. Elizabeth’s practice focuses on civil litigation, construction law and employment law.
Prior to joining Rousseau Mazzuca, Elizabeth worked in employment and labour law, representing a variety of individuals and companies. Elizabeth has experience with the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Divisional Court, the Small Claims Court, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, and the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal.
Before going to law school, Elizabeth completed her BA in political science from Western University. She also completed a MA in Canadian politics from York University. Elizabeth’s background in politics assists her when helping clients navigate complex legal disputes.
Outside of the office, Elizabeth enjoys golfing, playing softball and taking her motorcycle on road trips.
Representative Work:
Represented a company at an Ontario Labour Relations Board hearing and a Divisional Court Judicial Review hearing regarding an appeal of a Ministry of Labour claim for unpaid wages
Represented numerous employees in wrongful dismissal and constructive dismissal actions
Defended employers accused of wrongfully dismissing employees and violating human rights legislation
Successfully argued a motion for further production of documents from a corporate defendant
Acted for a general contractor in a breach of contract and negligence claim in a federal infrastructure project
Acted on an application to terminate union bargaining rights at the Ontario Labour Relations Board
